Doctor Werewolf

Two of the fastest rising stars in Australian dance music, Doctor Werewolf are riding the basstrain to the top, pushing drumstep, dubstep, DnB and bassline electro to anyone who will listen.

Both well accomplished classically trained musicians & composers, Doctors Andrew Bell and Adam Zae decided to take their careers to the next level; completing their respective PhD’s in Tearing shit up’ and ‘Rocking the house’, before finally unleashing the beast that is Doctor Werewolf on an unsuspecting Sydney club scene 2 years ago.

Werewolf sightings have since been reported at festivals and clubs across the country, including Good Vibrations, Field Day, Foreshore, Parklife, Warehouse, Arthouse, Academy, Family, Brown Alley, and of course the Werewolf’s favourite haunt, in the Cave at Chinese Laundry (no. 1 club in Aus –ITM 2010)

Frequently billed alongside heavyweights like Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Nero, Skism, Bar 9, London Electricity, Rusko, Doctor P, Rico Tubbs, Skism, Stanton Warrioris, Yuksek, & Klute (to name drop just a few) Doctor Werewolf not can only hold their own, but will invariably whip the party into an unforgettable frenzy that has the show go down as the ‘best gig of the tour.’

As well as rocking a mean live show, Doctor Werewolf’s original productions and bass-heavy remix work for the likes of Coolio, Wiley, Aquasky, the Hump Day Project, Life Express have been making waves internationally, with massive tune support coming from Rico Tubbs, Kissy Sellout, Freq Nasty, Aquasky Kid Kenobi, Mt Eden Dubstep, Will Styles and Ajax, the Werewolf Soundcloud sustaining over 100,000 plays!!!

Refusing to stick to one genre, as a production duo they tend to focus on creating sonically rich atmospheres, and put as much detail into each track as possible – and despite that being almost the antithesis of dance music today, it not only works, but sets them apart from the current crop of formulaic dubstep producers, as each Doctor Werewolf track is so different to the last.

DW Releases are out One Love, Dubrave, NEON, Sweden’s Bonerizing Records, and Troublemakers Music, and forthcoming on Klub Kids, Dubrave, Ministry of Sound and BASS=WIN.

In between Studio sessions they will be rocking-the-fuck-out at a club near you. While no two sets ever the same, you can definitely expect a killer show, with the Doctors both mixing up a dubstep, drum n bass, drumstep rave, plus creative turntablism, sample triggers and even a bit of CDJ trombone, while the multitalented Adam Zae takes to the mic like he was born with one in hand. Underpants will be thrown… sweat will be dripping… drinks will be spilling… and your girlfriend will most probably be friends with Werewolf on Facebook the next day.
