AntiHeros
Antiheros are a 4-piece, DJ hybrid band that maintain a flexible line up of drums, decks, midi controllers, and an MC. They produce, remix and cycle through an extensive range of genres (rock, hip hop, DnB, Dubstep, Breaks, and House) to create a party vibe with an 'anything goes,’ high-energy live performance.
Hailing from Brisbane, Antiheros formed in August 2011 and produced their first mix tape 'Project Mayhem' - a key-mixed party blend of their own remixes. This debut, coupled with their ‘Live studio teaser video’ (Antiheros perform a live remix), led Antiheros to headline their debut performance at Brisbane’s Oh Hello nightclub, filling the club to maximum capacity. The success of this release secured the Antiheros bookings at Australia's biggest and most renowned festivals throughout the summer of 2011/2012 including Stereosonic, Summafieldayze, Big Day Out and Future Music Festival.
In between live performances, Antiheros commenced production of full remixes that contain original composition, releasing ‘Good Feeling – Pretty lights (Antiheros Remix) in February 2012. This release was downloaded by and received praise from Internationally renowned artists such as Stickybuds (Canada), CMC Silenta (Germany) and All Good Funk Alliance – Funk Weapons (USA), and received over 2000 plays and 500 downloads within the first week of release.
Antiheros have just released their sophomore mix tape ‘Mixed on all fours’, headlining its launch at Brisbane’s Oh Hello nightclub on April 27th. The boys are now setting up a string of shows to follow, and meet the demands of their growing popularity as it spreads across the country. Coupled with the production of their debut (and all original) EP which has also commenced, and plans of its release before the end of 2012, the boys have a very busy year ahead.
